Today, we manufacture a full line of Thomas Built Buses for school and day care transportation, along with numerous non-school applications. Naturally, these exceptional products are backed by exceptional customer support.
Thomas Saf-T-Liner® C2
After years of market research, design, testing and fabrication, the Thomas Saf-T-Liner® C2 is a reality. The Saf-T-Liner® C2 is the result of Thomas' quest to create a new conventional style bus that would redefine the Type C category. Launched in the fall of 2004, every element of the C2 was designed and engineered to improve durability, reliability, safety and lifecycle cost. The C2 is so innovative that we built a $40 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in High Point, N.C. to produce it.

Why Buy Freightliner?
Freightliner introduced its school bus chassis in 1997 and, within three years, FCCC captured more than one-third of the Type C market. That's because FCCC delivers unprecedented durability and reliability combined with exceptional Thomas Built support. It also introduced many new features to the school bus chassis market, including improved line-of-sight, an extra-tight turning radius, an easily accessible engine compartment and more. Among its outstanding features:
The large, easy-to-read gauge panel is positioned for quick reading and allows drivers to maintain focus on traffic and road conditions.
Increased visibility in the "danger zone." With its unique sloping hood and raised driver's platform, the C2 offers drivers the best visibility available in a Type C school bus.
The C2 also features up tp a 55-degree wheel cut and an exceptionally tight turning radius.
The easy-tilt hood allows drivers and mechanics to easily open the hood from a standing position.
The C2 engine compartment is designed so coolant checks and other daily maintenance can be managed without ladders, lifts or climbing onto the wheels.
And the C2 is also designed for ease of maintenance with the engine forward of the fire wall. A set-back front axle also provides for quick and easy engine access.
